"ISEAA and SCAPE jointly hosted a Welcome Back to Australia Industry Forum on Thursday 9 Dec at the new SCAPE student accommodation venue in Darlington.
This was a celebration to mark the return of the first cohort of 266 international students to Sydney on Monday 6 December which was part of the Study NSW Pilot. The keynote address was from the Hon: Geoff Lee Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education along with speeches from The Hon Julian Hill, the Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of International Students, Phil Honeywood from IEAA, Emma Rigney from The City of Sydney and Oscar Zi Shao Ong the President of Council for International Students Australia (CISA). All speakers were extremely excited about the plans to ramp up the return of international students from all over the world.
The Minister acknowledged how hard the past two years have been for the industry and how supportive the NSW Government in particular was supportive of the International Education Industry. One of the key messages from Julian Hill was that as a sector we need to learn from our mistakes over the last few years and to build on and further enhance the experience of international students in Australia. It was a magnificent event to promote ISEAA and the interest of its members "
